AION 2 Gear Score Guide — How to Increase Item Level Fast

Verified: 2026-10-06 — live-server video guide (community-reported)

The fastest gear score in AION 2 comes from things that are free and permanent first: feed gathered feathers to the monolith (max level 30) for amulet scrolls, enhance the amulet and belt from the main story and convert their quality up the green → blue → yellow ladder, put every Daevanion point into the board — each point is one gear score — and buy the Abyss vendor passives for an easy ~20 more. Save your dungeon currency: the guide’s target is 1,400 gear score, where the real game begins.

About this guide’s source

This page is built from a single community source: a video gear score guide recorded on the live global servers by the same creator behind our eight class build pages (supplied transcript). Everything below is community-reported, not officially confirmed. Names that survive only as transcript approximations are flagged inline, and the ones this site could cross-check against community databases are marked as corroborated. Outro and streaming plugs are stripped; no sponsor claims are included.

The feather monolith: your first permanent upgrades

While you level, gather and pick up the feathers scattered across the open world — you do not need every one of them — and bring them to the monolith that unlocks right after the tutorial. The monolith caps at level 30, and each level pays an amulet enhancement scroll. This is the same feather-fed monolith our Sorcerer build page records as a skill-point source — two independent transcripts, same system.

The amulet itself is permanent and comes from the main story quest, with a belt joining later. Both work the same way: enhance each to +10, then take it to the quality conversion the transcript renders as “Substance Morph” (transcribed — the UI name could not be cross-checked), which raises the item’s quality exactly like the guide’s screenshot shows. It is a free upgrade, and the color ladder runs green → blue → yellow. Later stages get more expensive, but the early conversions are the cheapest permanent item-level you will ever buy.

Strongholds, Sealed Dungeons and the Daevanion board

While roaming the open world, clear the question-mark markers and strongholds — the guide completed every single one and calls the rewards insane, especially from the Sealed Dungeons: skill points and Daevanion points on top.

Daevanion points are gear score. Open the board (the transcript garbles its name; the system is the same Daevanion board documented across all eight of our build pages) and fill tiles: each tile placed is one gear score, and higher-color tiles cost more points but pay more score. There are four boards in total — the last one unlocks at level 45 and is the PvP board fed from the Abyss, which has its own separate feathers to collect. Path toward the active skills your build needs first, then go for the legendary ones; one status-effect-resist line, the guide believes, applies globally to PvE as well, but that depends on the build.

Inside the Abyss, watch for the floating circles in the air — they grant flight power (“fly juice” in the transcript). Use them. The PvP feathers feed an Abyss-side monolith that pays PvP points — which are also score, plus some good boosts, but only for PvP.

Abyss points: the easy passive gear score

From the Abyss you earn Abyss points. The guide’s route: open Battlefield → Trade Shop → Growth, where an easy passive 20 gear score sits alongside stigma shards for your ultimates — the two things to buy first. The shop’s other stock is lower priority for score: the potential stone is a later-game item, wings are expensive, and the rest is skins. The faction-war context for all of this is in our AION 2 PvP overview.

Enhancement, mana stones and the stones that destroy themselves

Enhancement adds the +number on an item, capped at +10. Finishing the main story quest pays a free weapon, guard and bracelet — three items you can safely enhance for easy gear score, because they last. The guide went to +10 on the weapon and had not replaced it since; stopping at +5 is presented as a legitimate way to save money. What argues against going past +10 is the material curve: it requires quite a lot of enhancement stones.

  • Mana stones — a second way to push score, but do not spend the big ones on gear you will replace. The guide’s rule of thumb: two green lines on an item is fine for leveling gear; the expensive stones go into the high-item-level pieces that last.
  • Weapon and guard effect stones (transcribed “Fio stones”) — a special effect slot on weapons and guards granting an extra stat and a chance to deal bonus damage. Three quests supply them, so there is little reason to skip the slot. Warning: removing the stone destroys it forever.
  • Soul binding — maximizes the affixes on an item, with sync (transfer stats from another item) and reset options alongside. The guide skips it on this tier of gear: there are not that many of the required books around.

Shugo Festival currency: crystals and stigma shards first

The Shugo Festival mini-games pay an event currency that spends in the Festival Shop. The guide’s two priorities are the crystals — the same passives described above — and stigma shards, the currency of your ultimate skills (Skills → Stigma tab). Very important, in the guide’s words; spend the event currency on those two.

The shop also stocks soul crystals, which reroll the stats on pets — permanent bonuses with some serious numbers on the right rolls. But rerolls cost more crystals (and money) the deeper you go, and pet stats are not combat gear score. The guide’s call: free stats, but focus gear score first.

Odyle Energy and the Expedition dungeons: spend late, not early

At level 22 you unlock Odyle Energy (transcribed; the name is corroborated by community dungeon databases) — the currency you spend to claim gear from Expedition dungeons. The guide’s rule: do not spend it while leveling — not on any single dungeon. Hold it until Draupnir at 45.

At Draupnir, three exploration runs earn claims at the end — the cube — with a guaranteed chest. The pick that matters is the breastplate: per item slot, nothing carries more stats. That said, you do not need the Draupnir breastplate to reach 1,400 gear score — it is an optional piece. After 1,400, the pattern becomes three exploration runs (two if the pass doubles your claims) or, for the chest slot specifically, the guaranteed chest from Vakron Sky Island (transcribed “Vron Island”; the island name is corroborated by community databases), whose chest piece sits at ilvl 70 where the Draupnir chest sits much lower. If you already have the chest piece, the next two claims are gloves or boots — the guide leans boots for the movement speed.

The Ascension and Nightmare dungeons are your daily content, and they eat tickets (stocked from quests and dailies). The guide’s timing tip: run them the day before the weekly reset, when your gear score is at its highest for the week — the event timer shows exactly when that reset lands. Clears pay currency for growth items, passives and more stigma shards — free gear score — plus wings materials and skins. The longer game: once you cross 1,400 you can spend Odyle Energy on conquest runs, or hoard it toward 1,600–2,100 if you want the long run. The guide plays the long run — saving the energy and leaning on alts to farm dungeons and feed the main with materials.

Dailies at 45: Duty rewards and hidden cubes

At level 45, pressing J unlocks Duty — the daily quests, with the reset time shown in the menu. Each Duty lists its reward column: the leftmost reward is 100% guaranteed, and the chance drops by roughly 25% per step to the right — skim the odds before committing. Prioritize enhancement stones if you need them, and the cube keys: hidden cubes spawn in the open world like feathers but show no map marker, and their rewards are good. One daily carries roughly a 10% chance at an Ascension Trial challenge ticket, with energy as the second reward — worth eyeing.

Field bosses: the lucky gear score

The map’s field boss tab lists every boss and its respawn timer. The guide farms four main ones — and one of them is the single best gear score lottery in the open world. Kills also grant titles, and the title screen holds a full collection worth browsing.

The video guide’s main field boss targets

Eternal GartuaThe only field boss the guide credits with ilvl-70 items — the reporter got two pieces from it. Community databases corroborate both the boss and its ilvl-70 unique leg armorCorroborated — Game8 boss guide; community item database lists Gartua's Greaves at ilvl 70
Legion Commander Lagta (transcribed “Lacta”)ilvl 46 like the other main farm targets. Its kill title grants combat speed and movement speed — the guide calls it one of the best titles in the game; community sources read the same title at +3.5% to bothCorroborated — community field-boss and title lists

Drop luck is the guide’s own account (two items off one Gartua kill cycle). Spawn timers are community-mapped, not official. Verified October 6, 2026.

Crafting: Handicrafting jewelry is the score sleeper

Crafting splits into gathering plus the professions — weapons, armor, and Handicrafting for jewelry (the transcript says “Handiwork”; the global client menu name is Handicrafting, as our crafting guide documents), which the guide calls probably the most important right now. Scroll the recipes or search: the top pieces are all ilvl 70, and accessories carry amazing power for gear score. Materials and crafted items are expensive on the market in the launch window, so crafting is also simply a way to make Kinah while you gear up.

One warning before you buy the pass for an alt

The battle pass is character-bound, not account-bound — the guide is blunt that this is unfortunate for alt players. The premium track pays out a lot of Odyle Energy (great for dungeon farming) plus tickets, but an alt who wants those benefits buys the pass again. The guide bought premium on the main only. The pass and membership economics are laid out in the free-to-play guide.

AION 2 gear score FAQ

What gear score should I aim for in AION 2?

The guide's number is 1,400 gear score — the point where, in its words, the real game begins for the current stage. Reaching it does not require the Draupnir breastplate claim or any single expensive piece: the monolith, the amulet and belt quality upgrades, the Daevanion board and the Abyss vendor passives carry most of the way on their own. All of it is community-reported, not officially confirmed.

Should I enhance past +10 in AION 2?

The guide caps enhancement at +10 while leveling: each rank eats a large pile of enhancement stones, and the MSQ weapon, guard and bracelet you would be enhancing get replaced eventually. Stopping at +5 on the weapon is presented as a legitimate money-saver — the guide itself went to +10 and had not replaced it yet. Community-reported, not officially confirmed.

What is Odyle Energy in AION 2?

Odyle Energy (the transcript's rendering is garbled; the name is corroborated by community dungeon databases) is the currency you spend to claim gear from Expedition dungeons. It unlocks at level 22, and the guide's advice is to not spend it while leveling: save it for Draupnir at 45, then either run conquest claims at 1,400 gear score or hoard it toward the 1,600–2,100 range. Community-reported, not officially confirmed.

Are the battle pass and its rewards account-wide in AION 2?

No — the guide is explicit that the battle pass is character-bound, not account-bound. The premium track pays out a large amount of Odyle Energy and dungeon tickets, so alt players who want those benefits would have to buy the premium pass again per character. The guide bought it on the main only. Community-reported, not officially confirmed.
