AION 2 Global Servers: Full Server List & Status Check by Region

AION 2 Early Access Servers graphic: the server list for all five regions — NA West, Europe, Asia, NA East and LATAM — with each region's Elyos and Asmodian server pairs (Siel/Israphel, Nezekan/Zikel, Vaizel/Triniel, Kaisinel/Lumiel)
The official “Early Access Servers” graphic listing the server names for all five regions — the roster the global launch opened with (NCSOFT has added more servers since; see below). Reposted from the r/Aion2 community on Reddit (source: Reddit r/Aion2; graphic © NCSOFT). It matches the launch table below.

AION 2 opened Early Access with 20 servers across five regions — Europe, NA West, NA East, LATAM and Asia — and NCSOFT added six more Elyos/Asmodian pairs in the first two days: 32 servers in total as of October 1, 2026. Every world comes as an Elyos/Asmodian pair, and the same names (Siel, Israphel, Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel, Triniel, Kaisinel, Lumiel) repeat in multiple regions — each region runs its own instances.

The full AION 2 server list: every server by region

Every region below has its own copy of the servers listed next to it — the same name in two regions is two different worlds. Each server name is split into an Elyos world and an Asmodian world, so the faction you choose at character creation decides which half of the pair you log into. The Elyos/Asmodian split itself is covered in our Elyos vs Asmodians guide.

10 Elyos/Asmodian pairs = 20 servers — the roster Early Access opened with on September 30, 2026. The names repeat the KR/TW pool (community-reported, not officially confirmed); the region-to-server mapping was cross-checked between independent launch-coverage sources on October 1, 2026. NCSOFT has since added more servers (below), and the server-select screen in the client is always the final word.

Servers NCSOFT added after Early Access opened

Server counts are moving during the launch window: within the first two days of Early Access, NCSOFT opened six more Elyos/Asmodian pairs — four in Europe, one in NA East and one in NA West. These extend beyond the original launch name pool with classic AION server names (Yustiel, Marchutan, Ariel, Azphel, Fregion, Ereshkigal, Meslamtaeda, Beritra). NCSOFT encourages new players to join the newest servers, and all instanced content — including dungeons — is available cross-server.

How to check AION 2 server status yourself

Start with the honest framing: NCSOFT has no server status page and no status API for AION 2 — nothing that shows per-server state in real time. Service state is communicated through announcements, which means the fastest reliable check is a five-minute routine across the sources below, in this order:

  1. 1. The official notice board (the only authoritative source) NCSOFT posts maintenance and outage notices on the official site's notice board — aion2.plaync.com — rather than on a dedicated status page. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance, and incident updates land here first. If the game won't let you in, check the newest notices before assuming anything is wrong on your end.
  2. 2. The PURPLE launcher and Steam The PURPLE launcher (NC's own client) surfaces service announcements and patch notes at startup, and the game's Steam hub mirrors the same announcements — including emergency maintenance extensions. If the launcher itself won't connect, a launcher outage rather than a game-server outage is often the cause.
  3. 3. Player-report trackers Aggregator sites that collect player problem reports (Downdetector-style trackers such as Technobezz's AION 2 status page) show complaint spikes in real time. They have no official data feed — NCSOFT publishes no per-server status API — so treat a spike as a signal to check the notice board, not as confirmation by itself.
  4. 4. The community r/Aion2 and the official Discord are where players report which region and which named server they can't reach within minutes. Because every region has its own instance of each server name (see above), a community report naming "Siel" only tells you something if the poster's region matches yours.
  5. 5. Rule out your own connection Before blaming the servers: try one other region in the server-select screen. If another region's servers respond, the game service is up and the problem is between you and that region — a routing or ISP issue, not an outage. Restarting the launcher and checking your own connection clears most 'server down' reports that never were one.

One expectation to set before launch day: on October 5, the most useful status information will not be any website’s status light but the official notice board — launch-day queues, server merges and emergency maintenance all get announced there first, and community trackers only light up after players are already locked out.

AION 2 global servers: same names, different worlds

The odd-looking repetition in the table is real, not a copy-paste error: every region has its own Siel and Israphel, NA East and LATAM add their own Nezekan and Zikel, and Europe launched with the deepest roster — four pairs, since grown to eight. That means “what server are you on?” is an incomplete question in AION 2 — the answer that matters is region + name. Community expectation is that the Siel/Israphel pairs will be the most crowded at launch precisely because they exist in every region and are the default pick circulating in guides and Reddit threads (community expectation, not official data) — NCSOFT publishes no population figures for any server.

Per-server population has no official numbers; the total number of players online is a different, trackable metric — our AION 2 player count page covers the Steam concurrent readings and what they do and don’t measure.

Server locations are a different gap: NCSOFT has not published datacenter cities or per-region ping figures, so any site quoting exact server locations for the global build is guessing (unconfirmed). The practical check is the one players actually use: log in at your usual play time, watch the ping display on the server-select screen, and compare regions directly — your own latency beats anyone’s map.

Which AION 2 server should you pick?

Your server choice is really two choices made in sequence. First the region, which you should settle by latency and by where your friends or legion are creating characters — it decides every session’s feel from day one. Second, the faction side, which picks which half of the pair you log into and which half of the world you level through; our faction guide covers why there is no mechanically wrong answer. Advance Access is already running for Founder’s Pack owners — the early access guide has the timeline, and the preload and download guide gets the 100 GB client onto your disk before the October 5 global launch.

AION 2 server transfers: October 14, same-faction only

A server pick is no longer strictly permanent. NCSOFT’s official “Information on Server Transfer” announcement (September 30, 2026) sets transfers to open on October 14, 2026, under four rules worth knowing before you create your character — or after you regret picking one:

AION 2 server transfer rules — official announcement, September 30, 2026
RuleWhat the announcement says
When do transfers open?October 14, 2026
Which moves are allowed?Between servers within the same faction — an Elyos character moves to another Elyos server, an Asmodian to another Asmodian server
What does a transfer cost?Free of charge when the feature opens; whether it stays free long-term is not stated
Who is restricted?Early Access players can transfer between Early Access servers only — not onto the commercial launch servers

One distinction worth spelling out, because it gets conflated constantly: cross-server instanced content is not a cross-server character. Dungeons and other instanced content already work across servers — you can run them with players from any server of your side — but that never moved your character off its home server. The feature opening October 14 is what moves the character itself.

The Early Access restriction matters for anyone who bought a Founder’s Pack: characters created during the September 30 – October 4 Advance Access window live on the early-access server set, and under the announcement they transfer between early-access servers only — not onto the commercial launch servers the free-to-play opening on October 5 brings.

What transfers don’t do is cross factions. Faction-switching has never been announced for AION 2 — the transfer announcement covers same-faction moves only — so treat your Elyos/Asmodian choice as final; our faction guide covers how to make that choice.

AION 2 servers FAQ

How many servers does AION 2 have for the global launch?

AION 2 opened Early Access with 20 servers (10 Elyos/Asmodian pairs) across five regions; NCSOFT added six more pairs within the first two days, bringing the total to 32 servers (16 pairs) as of October 1, 2026 — and more may follow during the launch window. Every server name is split into an Elyos side and an Asmodian side, mirroring the game's two-faction structure.

Are AION 2 server names the same in every region?

Yes — the names repeat, but each region runs its own instances. Europe, NA West, NA East, LATAM and Asia each have their own Siel and Israphel, so "Siel on NA East" and "Siel on Europe" are different worlds. Pick your region first, then the server name; the name alone doesn't identify a world.

Which AION 2 server should I pick?

Pick by region first — latency and where your friends or legion land matter far more than the name. Then, within your region, expect the Siel/Israphel pair to be the most crowded at launch because it exists in the most regions and is the default recommendation circulating in the community (community expectation, not official data). NCSOFT publishes no population figures, so nobody can quote real server populations yet.

Does AION 2 have a server status page or API?

No. NCSOFT has published no per-server status page or API for AION 2 — service state is communicated through notices on the official site board, the PURPLE launcher and Steam announcements. See the checklist section above for the fastest ways to verify whether the servers are down.

Can you transfer servers or switch factions later?

Yes, with limits. Per the official "Information on Server Transfer" announcement, transfers open on October 14, 2026: moves between servers within the same faction only, free of charge when the feature opens, with Early Access players restricted to transferring between Early Access servers. Faction-switching has not been announced at all — treat your faction pick as final, and choose it before character creation. The server transfer section above has the full rules.
