AION 2 Class Tier List — PvE, PvP & Role Rankings

Pre-launch framework

Role-based rankings for the eight global launch classes — framework and methodology now, sourced ratings from launch-window play.

There is no verified AION 2 class tier list yet. AION 2 does not launch globally until October 5, 2026, and nobody outside the Korean and Taiwanese service has played the global retail build. Every ranking published before that date is either extrapolated from the KR/TW version or written by a seller blog with nothing behind it. This page carries our role-based ranking framework now, and gets real numbers from launch-window play starting October 5.

Why there is no verified AION 2 tier list yet

“No ranking yet” is not a gap in our coverage — it is the only honest answer anyone can give today. Four verifiable facts back it up:

  • The global client is not live. The only public test was the September 17–18 Launch Scale Test, which ran for two days with a test level cap of 37.
  • Class identity develops late. Stigmas — the skills that actually differentiate classes — unlock around level 23, and community reports say classes start feeling distinct in the level 40s.
  • KR/TW rankings do not transfer. The Korean and Taiwanese service has been live since November 19, 2025, and it has a ninth class (Brawler) plus a longer patch history. Its leaderboards describe a different service with a different meta.
  • Skill names were still withheld by the global client as of September 19, 2026. Nobody can rank what they cannot read.

How we will rank AION 2 classes: our methodology

Publishing the rating standard before the ratings is deliberate — it is the yardstick every future number on this page will be held to:

  • Ranked by role, not by letter grade. Tank, Boss DPS, AoE DPS, Healer and Support are graded against what the role is supposed to do — a healer is not “worse” because it out-damages nobody.
  • Split by content type. PvE, PvP and large-scale wargame are separate tables, because the same class can sit at opposite ends of two of them.
  • Every rating carries a reason. A tier letter with no explanation is not a ranking, it is an opinion.
  • Sample size and bracket are disclosed. We state how many runs, at what level range, in which patch.
  • No KR/TW data is presented as global data. Where we cite the Asian services, it is labelled Based on KR/TW builds.

These rules are the page-level version of the sourcing standards behind every Aion2 Codex page — see our sources and standards.

AION 2 class roles: the framework we will rank against

Before launch, the honest version of a tier table is the role structure the ratings will plug into. The buckets below are fixed; the tier letters are not filled in yet.

AION 2 role buckets and rating status

TankTemplar, GladiatorPending launch
Boss DPS (single-target)Assassin, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, GladiatorPending launch
AoE DPSSorcerer, Gladiator, RangerPending launch

Role buckets reflect confirmed class roles. Tier ratings will be filled from launch-window testing beginning October 5, 2026. We will not publish a rating we cannot source.

Which AION 2 class should you pick before launch?

Tier grades need live data; choosing a main does not. Four practical filters from KR/TW play so far — the same advice we give in the class overview, condensed for ranking shoppers:

  • Group queue speed: Cleric, Templar and Chanter are the supply bottleneck. Every five-player party runs 1 tank · 1 healer · 1 support · 2 DPS, and 10-player raids scale the same structure.
  • Latency tolerance: Assassin and Gladiator combo timing is reported to need sub-50 ms latency.
  • Standing still or not: Sorcerer casts in place for burst and crowd control; Spiritmaster deals sustained damage while moving.
  • Solo comfort: Chanter and Ranger are the forgiving picks; Cleric and Templar are the group-first picks.

AION 2 tier list FAQ

Is there an AION 2 tier list yet?

No — there is no verified AION 2 tier list yet. AION 2 does not launch globally until October 5, 2026, and nobody outside the Korean and Taiwanese service has played the global retail build. Every ranking published before launch is extrapolated from KR/TW play or written by a seller blog with nothing behind it. This page ships our role-based framework first and fills in sourced ratings from launch-window play.

What is the best AION 2 class?

There is no verified answer before the global launch. Pick by role and playstyle instead: Cleric, Templar and Chanter sit at the group-content bottleneck, Assassin and Gladiator are reported to need sub-50 ms latency for combo timing, Sorcerer casts in place while Spiritmaster deals sustained damage on the move, and Chanter and Ranger are the forgiving solo picks. This page lists the trade-offs until real data exists.

Do Korean tier lists apply to the global server?

No. The Korean and Taiwanese service has been live since November 19, 2025, carries a longer patch history, and includes a ninth class — Brawler — that the global launch roster does not have. Its leaderboards describe a different service with a different meta, so we treat KR/TW rankings as reference only, labelled Based on KR/TW builds.

When will this page have real rankings?

Within 72 hours of the October 5, 2026 global launch — by October 8 we plan to publish level 1–40 playability notes per class and initial role rankings, followed by five-player dungeon distribution data in the first week and Abyss PvP and wargame tables in the first month.
